Byron 21st Century
In 1848, José and Eusebio Alfonso, cousins, founded a small cigar factory in Santiago de las Vegas, La Habana province, Cuba. There they created the brand Lord Byron, in honor of the renowned English Romantic poet, a passionate smoker and cigar enthusiast. Some historians point out that "Lord Byron was one of the first brands to use a lithographed band with the name printed on it," setting a precedent in the industry.
More than eighty years later, during the Great Depression in the 1930s, the brand disappeared from the market. However, it would not be its definitive end. In 1998, more than 150 years after its original founding, Nelson Alfonso, a direct descendant of the founders, revived the Byron legacy, bringing one of the most elegant and refined brands in the ultra-premium segment back to life.
What can you expect from a Byron 21st Century?
The Byron 21st Century offers a sophisticated and perfectly balanced experience. It presents layers of nougat and fruity sweetness, accompanied by notes of fresh bread and cedar in the background. On the retrohale, a delicate touch of black pepper is perceived, adding complexity without dominating the profile. The smoke is extraordinarily smooth, creamy, and refined, a distinctive characteristic of the brand's meticulous aging process.
Ideal for: aficionados looking for a classic experience reinterpreted with modern standards, standing out for its elegance, smoothness, and aromatic depth.
