The Angel Cuesta Shade Toro is a modern reinterpretation of a historic brand dating back to 1884, now handcrafted at J.C. Newman's iconic El Reloj factory in Tampa, Florida. Produced in the exclusive The American Room workshop, this cigar reflects tradition, precision, and character.
This Toro vitola (6 x 52) incorporates a Nicaraguan shade-grown wrapper, differentiating it from the original Angel Cuesta Rosado version, which uses an Ecuador Havana wrapper. This distinction in the wrapper defines two clearly different profiles within the same line.
J.C. Newman keeps the binder and filler composition confidential but confirms the use of tobaccos from three continents, which adds complexity and balance to the blend.
The cigar is finished with a distinctive pigtail-style cap and wrapped in elegant gold foil, offering a classic and striking presentation that highlights its premium character.
When smoked, the Angel Cuesta Shade presents a mild to medium profile, with notes of hay, cream, cedar, and light leather, accompanied by a subtle hint of pepper on the retrohale. It is a refined, clean, and perfectly balanced experience.
The Angel Cuesta line has been recognized in the industry for its quality and consistency, including its presence in prominent rankings from specialized media outlets like Cigar Dojo and positive evaluations from halfwheel.
