Newman Cigar Co. will soon be available: Yagua and Diamond Crown Black Diamond. These two cigars are opposite in style but equally extraordinary in tradition, flavor, and character.

Yagua: Rustic Tradition Made into a Cigar

The Yagua is much more than a cigar: it's a journey into the past. Inspired by the family history of Lázaro López, general manager of the J.C. Newman PENSA factory in Nicaragua, this cigar recreates the artisanal way his grandfather in Cuba crafted his tobaccos in the 1940s.

Tied with a real Cuban palm leaf while still wet, each bundle of 20 cigars develops unique and unrepeatable shapes. No two Yaguas are alike. Its wrapper is under-fermented Connecticut Broadleaf, giving it a deep and bold character, which is then softened by a full year of aging.

With an impeccable Connecticut Havana wrapper and a blend of aged Dominican tobaccos, it offers an elegant, complex, and memorable smoke. It was launched in 2016 but perfected over the years under the vision of the Newman family.
